4th ECPPM 2002, 09.-11.09.2002, Portoroz, Slovenia

The themes of the 2002 ECPPM include all the traditional product and process modeling topics. However, as someone, setting up websites in 1993, the organizer of the 2002 ECPPM suggests to focus this event on the research, development and use of communication technologies, such as the Internet, Web and mobile communication and their impact on how we work and do business in construction.

Please notice: After the conference the First International Workshop on Construction IT in Education will take place in Portoroz, Slovenia from 12th until 13th September 2002. For more information click on http://fg.uni-mb.si/itc@edu.

3rd ECPPM 2000, 25.-27.09.2000, Lisbon, Portugal

The conference is envisioned to bring together world-wide researchers and developers who are actively involved in the development ofpractical and theoretical approaches to product and process modelling which will be the basis of our future CAD, CAAD and CAE/CIMsystems. The aim of the conference is to explore research issues and requirements related to methodologies for design, planning, construction and monitoring in all life-cycle phases of buildings.

2nd ECPPM 1998, 19.-21.10.1998, Watford, Hertfordshire, UK.

The Architecture, Engineering and Construction (A/E/C) industry remains on the edge of the information society. This conference aims to help the A/E/C industry become a fully-fledged member of the information society by show-casing the benefits of appropriate IT based product and process modelling. This conference draws on the experience of researchers, the industry, and international initiatives to highlight the steps required for successful reengineering and integration of the industry. This continues the work initiated at the first EC-PPM conference in Dresden(1994).
The main themes of the conference include: Product modelling, Design process modelling, Automation in construction, Integrated environments, Object-oriented modelling and systems, Model implementation issues, Modelling of libraries, Innovative modelling paradigms, Technology reviews, Experience of standardisation, Quantification of needs and benefits, Document and product management, Information logistics, Electronic trading and commerce, IT in construction management, Impact of standard and advanced IT.

1st ECPPM 1994, 05.-07.10.1994, Dresden, Germany

In the building industry there is a strong need of interdisciplinary team work on a large scale, which is a challenge not only to researchers and developers, but also to software vendors, distributors, end-users. The main vehicle of this development are the advances in product and process modelling. On the basis of a product and process modelling kernel other areas, such as multi-media, be attached and existing applications can be extended and integrated. With the integration of all product development processes and the management of the information flow between them, we are building information systems that not only distribute information but also carry knowledge. The system becomes an intelligent system.
The conference proceeding contain over 80 articles on Product modelling (Representation of engineering products and knowledge), Design process modelling (Explicit representation of design process knowledge and design strategies), Construction process modelling, Facility management, Integrated environments and EC building projects(Engineering projects, Architecture and construction, Other related projects).
